Why I Work at Max

I am an independent contractor. As such I have the freedom to work wherever I choose. I choose Maximum Potential Physiotherapy and this is why…

The people

I'm convinced that Max has the best work team on earth. We are such a diverse group of people and as such we each bring something different and unique to our clinical table. One thing we all have in common is an intense commitment to you and your progress. We often work in collaboration, and regularly consult with each other, so you can be confident you are benefitting from the brain power of our entire team.

It makes it easy to be enthusiastic about our patients because have the most incredible community of individuals. I don’t know how we got so lucky, but we have a phenomenal group of people that tend to get to know all the practitioners in the clinic, and often other patients as well. It creates quite a cohesive group of humans and you’re invited to join!

The Environment

At 1620 29 St NW Maximum Potential is housed in possibly one of the most sterile office buildings in all of the Northwest Calgary. However, when you turn the corner in Rm #125 what you will find is anything but boring. After a couple of appointments you can be pretty confident that our front staff, the fabulous Venessa and Melanie, will greet you by name. A few more appointments and they will probably have your license plate memorized for the free parking. Depending on who is in the waiting room and how talkative you feel, you will likely be engaged in a delightful conversation, or entertained by our television or magazine entertainment while you wait.

Depending on the time of day the clinic can filled with clinicians and patients (mid-day when we have 3-4 physiotherapists, 1-2 massage therapists +/- an acupuncturist) or relatively calm and quiet (1 physiotherapists, +/- 1 massage therapist). We often have students with us as well. The clinic has a open concept providing for open interaction and idea exchange, but if you prefer a more private environment there are privacy curtains and rooms as well. Regardless the vibe is always positive!

Bonejangles, our resident skeleton and mascot, is usually dressed in some sort of outrageous attire to reflect the time of year or tone of the clinic. It is always a hoot to see how our patients and practitioners have chosen to decorate her.

Educational Institution

Max encourages students at all phases of their education to learn from our practitioners. Depending on the time of year we often have students at every hour of the day. Max welcomes middle school and high school students interested in learning about our professions for shadow opportunities. University students from Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, therapy assistance programs are often in the clinic on their clinical rotations. The presence of the students is a symbiotic relationship. Max practitioners benefit from students knowledge of the latest research, reinforcing our knowledge through teaching, and staying relevant in our own education by receiving thoughtful questions. Students get exposure to the clinic setting, work with real patients under supervision, and have the opportunity to apply textbook information in a practical application.

Dedicated Time to Patients

Max supports and encourages clinicians to take one-on-one, dedicated, hands-on time with patients. At Max you will experienced focused care from experienced practitioners without feeling rushed. All of your appointment time will be spent with your clinician. Each appointment is tailored to meet you where you’re at in your care.

Random Acts of Kindness

Built into the platform at Max is the principle of kindness. As such, Max has a fund to give to those we may feel would benefit from a small gesture. It is a delight to develop little gestures for our patients to convey our appreciation. Every year, the clinic also participates in community outreach for various foundations. If your organization is interested in having us donate our time and energy, please contact Max!

I honestly think Max is a charmed place where everyone is welcomed just as they are. It always cheers me everyday to come to work!
